Transportation
Airport-hotel transfers and group ground transportation within South Africa are included in the participation fee.  It is your responsibility to make your own US to South Africa travel arrangements.  Please ensure that you book your flights early.  Your passport should be signed and valid for at least six months beyond the date of your return (with available empty pages).

Passport and Visa
Travel visas are not necessary for American citizens, Canadians, British or most other Commonwealth or European Union passport holders entering into South Africa.  If you plan on traveling on a passport from a country other than the US, Canada or the UK, please advise us and we will determine whether you require an entry visa.  Your travel visa is good for 90 days and will be granted on entry at the airport.  All participants must ensure that they have at least two totally empty pages in each passport before coming.  American visitors without two empty pages have recently been sent back to the US upon entry to South Africa.

For recent travel reports on South Africa, please consult the State Department website at http://travel.state.gov/.

Health and Safety
It is strongly recommended that you consult your family physician prior to traveling to South Africa to determine health risks and necessary vaccinations; especially if you have a medical condition.  All inoculations should be up-to-date prior to travel.  Please note that it is your responsibility to cover any health-related costs incurred during the mission.  For additional travel health information, please consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at http://www.cdc.gov/.

The ETC will have a block of hotel rooms reserved in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.  We would request that you do not contact the hotel directly regarding room reservations within the block booking.

Conformation of your hotel reservation(s) will be provided to you by the ETC.  Your hotel reservations will be made according to the dates you indicated.  Your credit card information will be used to reserve hotel accommodation only.
